The Unseen
“I have a dream; I want to grow; I will be what I want to be....” My mind ponders as I see this photograph over and over again, that provokes my thought about so many girls like her. Their future is unseen, and with social concerns about the education of the girl child, it is thought provoking to realize that there isn’t enough freedom for the girls and women in some societies. Would they be able to choose to lead the life of their choice? When I took this candid, I was drawn into the form and pattern in the frame and pressed the shutter. But every time I look at this photograph, it evokes an emotion within me that resonates with the concern for the girl child and the women in them. Will they grow up to be the women of their choice or would they have the plight of headless humans? I hope this photo evokes the emotion within the viewer, and if there is anything they would do for the betterment of the society.
